Hi, I’m Bonnie, an award-winning children’s book author, retired registered nurse, and mom of three. During my 36 years as an RN, I enjoyed teaching patients in ways that made information easier to understand. I bring that same approach to creating children’s books that help kids learn, grow, and use their imaginations.
I’ve always been fascinated by how children learn and love creating stories that make learning fun and engaging. Growing up, I loved silly songs and rhymes and filled notebooks with poems. Writing children’s books was a dream I carried with me for years.
Now that my children are grown and I’ve retired from nursing, I can devote more time to writing, creating learning resources, and growing Quill Town Books. My goal is to create stories and resources that children enjoy while giving parents and educators meaningful ways to continue the learning beyond the book.
At Quill Town Books, our mission is built on three core pillars: creating meaningful children’s books, providing helpful resources for parents and educators, and supporting self-published authors.
We create children’s books that encourage learning, imagination, and social and emotional growth through stories about kindness, friendship, perseverance, and helping others.
We provide parents, teachers, and homeschool families with free lesson plans, printables, and learning activities that help extend the lessons found in books beyond story time.
We also support self-published authors with practical book marketing strategies, publishing guidance, and resources based on real-world experience.
Together, these three pillars reflect what Quill Town Books is all about: helping children learn and grow through books, giving the adults who guide them practical resources they can use, and helping fellow authors share their stories with readers.
